Wells used perspective to her advantage by giving both of the twins a voice. By doing this, she had given two different perspectives on a situation and how both characters handle the things that come their way.
This is the first story that I've seen two characters talking about the same situation simultaneously, and for this story, it fits. But a disadvantage to this style is that there are so many different things that are coming on at once that it can be hard to digest for the reader. For example, it took me a while to realize that they were conjoined twins instead of just freakishly close.
